~Great Christian One Liners~

Christian One Liners
Don't let your worries get the best of you; remember,
Moses started out as a basket case.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Some people are kind, polite, and
sweet-spirited until you try to sit in their pews.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Many folks want to serve God,
but only as advisors.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
It is easier to preach ten sermons
than it is to live one.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose,
but mosquitoes come close.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
When you get to your wit's end,
you'll find God lives there.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
People are funny; they want the front
of the bus, the middle of the road, and
the back of the church..
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Opportunity may knock once,
but temptationbangs on your front door forever.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+ *+*+*+*+*+*+*
Quit griping about your church;
if it was perfect, you couldn't belong.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
If the church wants a better preacher,
it only needs to pray for the one it has.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
God Himself does not propose to judge
a man until he is dead. So why should you?
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Some minds are like concretethoroughly
mixed up and permanently set.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Peace starts with a smile...
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
I don't know why some peoplechange churches;
what difference doesit make which one you stay home from?*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
A lot of church members who are singing
'Standing on the Promises'
are just sitting on the premises...
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
We were called to be witnesses,
not lawyers or judges.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Be ye fishers of men. You catch
them - He'll clean them.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Coincidence is when God
chooses to remain anonymous.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Don't put a question mark
where God put a period.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Don't wait for 6 strong men
to take you to church.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Forbidden fruits create many jams.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
God doesn't call the qualified,
He qualifies the called.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
God grades on the cross,
not the curve.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
God loves everyone,
but probably prefers'fruit of the spirit' over a 'religious nut!'
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
God promises a safe landing,
not a calm passage.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+
*He who angers you, controls you!
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
If God is your Co-pilot - swap seats!
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
Prayer: Don't give God instructions -- just report for duty!
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
The task ahead of us is never as
great as the Power behind us.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
The Will of God never takes you to
where the Grace of God will not protect you.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
We don't change the message,
the message changes us.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
You can tell how big a person is
by what it takes to discourage him.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
The best mathematical equation I have ever seen:
1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given.

A GREAT QUOTE~ Very Timely!

A GREAT QUOTE: VERY TIMELY!

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Jeremy's Graduation

I know this is a bit late, but I am really behind and maybe this will get me caught up a little. Last May, our oldest, Jeremy graduated from Homer High School. That in itself is no less than a miracle and worth blogging about!
See what happy parents look like? I may be smiling now, but when he started down that aisle, I was crying like a baby! They were happy tears..that he was graduating...and sad tears that my baby was growing up way too fast!!!
Here he is coming down the aisle with the cedar rope ....we didn't have one of those at Summerfield where I graduated from, but this is a long standing tradition at Homer. The Sr.'s pass this rope on to the Jr. class!

Here is what we waited 13 LONG LONG years for! It was kinda ironic. His Sr. year he spent 1/2 a day working in the office....where he has spent most of his school days in trouble for one reason or another. You know he apologized to Keith and I after filing Sr. folders all day and seeing that his was 4 times thicker than all the other students he began to read his history...and said he really didn't know what kept us from killing him in 6th grade....we wondered about this too! MANY MANY TIMES! :-)

We had a party for him after graduation...at Mamaw Mary's house....see why he got in so much trouble at school....WHAT A CLOWN!

Jeremy with Mamaw Mary...not sure which one is more proud! He loves her more than (in his own words) a fat kid loves cake!

This is the collage that we made of the different stages of Jeremy....from the sweet little boy that could light up a room with his smile and clear blue eyes...to the mischievious kid that used to hide behind all the doors EVERY morning and scare the pee right out of me...to the grown man (well in age anyway) that he has become. Yes, I cried putting this together too...Mamaw helped me with all these pictures!

And here is my handsome boy...who knew he would grow into such a good looking man...I DID!!!
:-) All graduated and out on his own...now I have a whole new set of worries besides bad grades and principle office visits!

Smith Family Christmas

Every year ...around the first of the New Year, we all get together with the extended part of our family...they come from far and wide and we meet up at Miss Mary's house for food and fun!
Thought I would share a few pictures from today!

After we ate and got full on fish and all the fixins, we all gathered outside for a little fun....this would be Clint Weldon and Jake Smith wrestling in the front yard! Not sure who won, but I think Jake was a little too small for this weight class! :-)

This is the whole group. All of the Fred and Mary Smith Family...sure turned out to be a small picture considering there are so many of us. I think there are just a few missing folks like John David, Mary Kate, Rodney, Jennifer, Aaron and Caroline...and Daniel Smith(today was his birthday). We missed them! Aren't we a great looking bunch!!!

This next group ...and what a happy group they are...is from left to right: Uncle Franklin Smith (Mr. Fred's Brother), Aunt Faye Osborn (Uncle Alton Smith's Wife), Aunt Ida Belle Albritton, Aunt Betty Smith (Uncle J.T.'s wife), Miss Mary, and Aunt Irene Williams. I am not sure what was so funny, but they sure were laughing!

Now, I might get in trouble for putting this picture on here ....cause it sure looks like Weyland smelled something very unpleasant...but it was just too funny not to share...this would be (backrow): Michael Smith, Sylvia Weldon, Kenneth Smith, Keith Smith, Randy Smith, Weyland Smith. (front row) Wayne Smith, Charlene Killgore and Ann Jones.

These wonderful looking kids are (back row) Bradley Smith, Terah Smith, Ethan Smith, Clint Weldon, Zach Killgore, Brandon Smith, Nicole Smith and Shea Killgore. (front row) Ashlyn Smith, Colton Jones, Jeremy Smith, Jake Smith and Jason Smith. Aren't they a rowdy lookin bunch!

We had a really good time visiting with everyone and even had a few volley ball games, but I didn't get pictures of that. Couldn't play and take pics too!

Now I couldn't put all these on here without including this last picture. Uncle Franklin wanted his picture made with me and Charlene. He is such a blast to be around...always keeping something going! He and I have a special bond ever since I rebroke his ribs for him at a funeral...long story, but he forgave me and we have been big buddies ever since! Love you very much Uncle Franklin!!!!
